Mr. Darko is a product of the University of Professional Studies (UPSA) and University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), where he obtained an Executive master’s in business administration (EMBA), Finance.  He is a Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Ghana.

Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Darko played significant roles in the Management of finances of the Ghana Cocoa Board and the Agricultural Manufacturing Group Limited.

He has served on Boards of many reputable Companies and institutions including, the then Ghana Commercial Bank Ltd, Shell Ghana Ltd, Ghana Water Company Ltd, National Petroleum Tender Board Adehyeman Savings and Loans Company Ltd, and Gratis foundation. He is currently on the Boards of the following companies: Morgan International Community Schools; Entrepreneurial Training Institute; Tesano Baptist Church Co-operative Credit Union which he founded; Denominational Board of the Ghana Baptist Convention as an Accounting Technocrat and Keypot Realty Company Limited where he is the Chair. He is also Chairman of XF Petroleum and Engineering Company Ltd.
